• Are e-Bikes allowed on the trails?

Allowed types of trail use, including e-Bikes, are determined by the land managers (Parks departments). UTC does not make any rules about e-Bike use. We support the land managers' decisions. When a land manager tells us that e-Bikes are allowed on a trail, we mark the "e-Bike" category on our trails map. To see these trails, go to The Trails page and mark only the eBikes category to filter the map.

  • Is hiking allowed on all trails?

Most trails are open to mountain biking, hiking, and running. Some trails have downhill sections that are marked for bikes only or one-way only. This is for the safety of all trail users in these sections. Please read and respect trail signage directions.

  • A feature on the trail is hard to ride. Can I change it?

No, please do not make changes to the trails unless you are working together with the volunteer trail stewards. Trails are carefully planned and built to resist erosion and provide skill challenges to many levels of trail users. Ride arounds, alternate lines, moved rocks and dirt can all have negative effects for your fellow trail users and for the volunteers.

  • How do I rent a park shelter near a trailhead?

Please contact the parks department for the park where that trail is located.
